Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a growing role in Internet of Things (IoT) applications and deployments. On one hand, the IoT world is getting smarter and smarter. AI is being incorporated in diverse IoT applications, improving operational efficiency and helping avoid unplanned downtime.
On the other hand, in order to fully exploit the capabilities and benefits brought by AI and IoT, both academia and industry are facing unprecedented technical challenges. These include storing, processing, and mining huge amounts of data from IoT based systems, security and privacy of the ubiquitous IoT devices, new protocols and algorithms for smart sensing and data transmission, and novel intelligent hardware platforms or software frameworks.
This Special Collection aims to bring researchers from academia and industry together to explore the opportunities of AI for future IoT and gather results from recent research activities in advancing artificial intelligence technologies as well as studying the feasibility of problem solving.
