Overview
The manuscripts may focus on quantitative aspects of additive manufacturing (AM) processes and part attributes. The topics may include but not limited to mechanistic and statistical modeling of the AM processes, modeling of microstructure, properties, residual stresses and distortion, neural networks, micro and meso scale defects, machine learning and digital twins. The scope also includes all AM processes such as the powder bed fusion, directed energy deposition, and binder jetting. The categories of papers include technical papers, short communications, perspectives and reviews. The length of reviews will depend on topics but will be decided by prior agreement with the editors.
The contents must be original unpublished work not being submitted for publication elsewhere. Please review guide for authors at https://www.elsevier.com/journals/computational-materials-science/0927-0256/guide-for-authors Please feel free to contact the editors for the special issue listed below if you have any questions.
Articles should be submitted to the Elsevier Editorial System (EES) submission site at https://ees.elsevier.com/commat/, which will be available starting August 31, 2019. The site will remain open until December 15, 2019. Please select the special issue name of “Additive Manufacturing” as the Article Type during submission.
