Overview
Economics & Human Biologyinvites submission of papers for a special issue devoted to the economics of taxes on sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs). Taxes on SSBs have been enacted in dozens of nations, regions, and cities in the past decade, and there is great interest in better understanding their effects. We invite submissions that estimate the effects of such taxes on retail prices (i.e. the pass-through of the taxes to consumers), consumer purchases or retail sales, and consumption. Papers addressing other research questions related to the economics of such taxes are also welcome. Taxes in all nations, regions, and cities are of interest. Research notes as well as full papers are welcome.
To facilitate speedy publishing, papers will be published in print issues as accepted, and also grouped online as a virtual special issue on the topic.
The editors of the special issue are John Cawley (Cornell University, USA), David Frisvold (University of Iowa, USA), and Anne Marie Thow (University of Sydney, Australia).
