Overview
Halogenated organic pollutants includes intentionally synthesized chemicals and unintentional byproducts formed during many anthropogenic activities. Many halogenated organic pollutants are highly toxic and ubiquitous in the various environment comparts. Environmental behaviors and toxicology of halogenated organic pollutants has always attracted increasing public attentions. Moreover, more and more new halogenated organic pollutants are found to be harmful to human health. Many of halogenated organic pollutants have been focused and regulated by international treaties such as Stockholm Convention. Knowledges about their toxicity mechanisms, environmental behaviors, and human exposures need to be comprehensively studied and clarified with the aim of better control and regulation to reduce their release into environment.
This special issue focuses on the studies of halogenated organic pollutants. Potential topics include, but not limited to advanced analytical methods, toxicity mechanisms, environmental behavior, human exposures, source apportion. Studies associated with the formation mechanism, inhibition and control technique, regulation and policy analysis of halogenated organic pollutants are also welcome.
The special issue publishes research articles and review articles.
