Overview
In the modera era of the digital world, we can see that everything is gearing towards Internet of Things (IoT) and we all know the immense greatness of moving towards IoT. Industrial IoT (IIoT) technology is an amalgamation of different technologies like machine learning, big data, sensor data, M2M communication and automation that have existed in the industrial backdrop for many years. The IIoT represents a variety of IoT applications in industry like smart product design principles and data-driven automation practices in the industrial sector. It widely utilizes modern sensor technology to enhance different types of equipment with remote monitoring and maintenance capabilities. The IIoT is a key element of smart factory, a trend of automation, which brings together modern cloud computing, IIoT, and AI to create intelligent, self-optimizing industrial equipment and facilities. Enabled with IoT, separate parts of a production line communicate with each other in near real-time and make the entire manufacturing process much easier to monitor and control. Finally, IIoT promotes more flexible, open architectures that support greater customization and digital upgrades across tens of thousands of devices.
The IIoT can shield industrial systems from downtime by detecting the earliest signs of malfunction and preventing their aggravation. Installing IoT sensors into industrial systems allows operators to know what is going on with the equipment in near real-time, and with high accuracy.
In addition, even from the economic point of view, the IIoT is a strategic priority for manufacturing companies as it allows them to give more value to their customers as well as to improve cost-efficiency of their internal operations.
