The supply of increasing energy demands a massive exploration of research to develop new and renewable sources. Nowadays, micro/nano scale materials are needed for solving the environmental and energy problems. Materials for energy and environment produce clean and efficient sources of energy to address our present energy related concerns and steer society to a more sustainable future. Smart and functional nanomaterials, due to their unique characteristics and excellent performances, are demanded in the area of green energy and renewable energy sources. The multi-dimensional nanostructured materials exhibit a high specific surface area and more exposed active surface sites which effectively pose several innovative physico-chemical properties that considerably facilitate their chemical and electrochemical activities. The main aim of special issue is to highlight the recent advances in research and to provide a platform for the designing, synthesis, characterizations and the applications of novel multifunctional nanomaterials in hydrogen energy and related energy.
