Overview
Work on the neural bases of bilingualism has had a steady increase over the past twenty years. However, to date little work has considered the importance of computational and developmental approaches to understanding the neural bases of bilingualism. The goal of the Special Issue is to bring together contributions that explicitly address the nature of computational and developmental approaches to the neural bases of bilingualism.
Papers on any aspect of the neurobiology of bilingualism with a computational or developmental emphasis are invited for submission. This could include work with children, older adults, or neurally inspired models of bilingualism. Results from work that highlights the potential effect of language experience and/or individual differences on the neural bases of bilingualism are also welcomed. Papers could be original research contributions including brain imaging and computational or innovative analytical methods, reviews, or theoretical positions.
