Overview
Worldwide, ambient air pollution contributes to 6.7% of the mortality cases and is the largest environmental health risk. Aerosol particulate matter (PM) is the most health-damaging component in the polluted air and its health impact is closely related to the chemical composition. To solve PM problem, it is necessary to integrate our knowledge on aerosol chemistry and health impact now, to reach a better understanding of the problem and make effective measures.
This special issue focuses on the latest progress on the chemical composition and health impact of aerosol PM, and new Instrumentation and techniques for online aerosol characterization and toxicity assessment. The special issue would like to invite studies on aerosol PM issues:
- Sources and chemical processes of atmospheric aerosols
- Health impact of atmospheric aerosols
- Health impact of combustion aerosols
- Health impact of biomass burning aerosols
- Health impact of aerosols from other sources
- Toxicological studies of aerosols (cohort studies are also welcomed)
