Overview
Natural computation focuses on nature-inspired algorithms, such as neural networks, genetic algorithms, molecular computing, quantum computing, and swarm optimization, which have enjoyed numerous applications in a wide range of complex problems in science and engineering. The problems tackled can be broadly categorized into global/multi-objective optimization, classification, or regression. Recent break-through in deep learning and big data has greatly amplified this trend.
The International Conference on Natural Computation, Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (ICNC-FSKD) has been a premier annual conference on the theory and applications of natural computation since 2005. The past conference proceedings from 2005 to 2015 appeared as 2 separate (but co-located) conferences, i.e., ICNC and FSKD. ICNC and FSKD were officially merged into a single conference ICNC-FSKD in 2016.
This proposed Special Issue will consist of extended best theoretical papers from ICNC-FSKD 2018 (http://icnc-fskd2018.org/), to be held from 28-30 July 2018 in Huangshan, China. Contributions outside of the conference are also encouraged. All submissions will be rigorously reviewed.
