Cloud computing enables transparent and flexible access to the IT services through the Internet. With the maturity and standardization of cloud computing technologies, many organizations and enterprises, are migrating their IT services to cloud. In the meantime individuals, organizations and enterprises are also interested to connect more and more devices through the IoT and use cloud as a resource provisioning pool for IoT devices. For instance, most modern devices such as TVs, smart digital devices, etc., use cloud as a backend system for data and applications. Thus cloud and IoT are used side by side to offer new and seamless services.
Despite various advances in cloud and IoT, one of the main challenges posed by cloud and IoT systems is the Quality-of-Service (QoS) management such as managing performance, reliability, efficiency, security, and privacy among others. This special issue aims to foster the dissemination of high quality research with new ideas, approaches, theories and practice to resolve the challenging issues related to the Quality of Service (QoS) in cloud and IoT.
